The City of Greenville, South Carolina has transformed its downtown and has become a premier destination over the last thirty years. Mayor Knox White attributes the success of downtown to careful strategic planning, clear vision, and a commitment to mixed-use development. His goal is to make Greenville the most beautiful and livable city in America. The pivotal decision to remove the Camperdown Bridge, a four-lane highway bridge that covered a 30-foot waterfall in the center of the city, solidified Greenville’s commitment to
expanding walkability and connectivity. Mayor Pro-tem Jil Littlejohn will elaborate on Greenville’s commitment to creating a people-focused, vibrant downtown.
